What is your favorite winter hat?

I love hats and always have. I love to wear them, read about them, shop for them and make them. Hats are my business, my pastime, and my fun. Essentially, hats take up a huge amount of time in my life right now, and I would like to share hat stories, pictures and any comments interested readers may have.

With the winter season upon us, it is time to turn our attention to warm woolen hats and hats with ear covers. We like the very fashionable Lillie & Cohoe hats with their signature ear covers. Their styles are timeless, easy to wear and look great on just about anyone. After all, they are made in Canada where they do know a thing or two about cold weather!

What is your favorite hat for winter? We would like to know its style and why it is your favorite hat.

Welcome to our blog – let’s chat about hats!

I found my favourite hat in a thrift store. It was a steal of a deal! Very warm, just right for winter. It was either velvet or velour, in a rich shade of burgundy that bordered on maroon. Not a particularly unique design, it was an old fashioned brimmed hat with fabric bow sewn on. I loved that the brim could be worn up, down, or rakishly down one side and up the other. Flexible hats are the most versatile because you can wear them in a myriad of ways. It fit like a dream, really flattered the face and the strongest of winter winds couldn’t pull it off. I’m not especially good looking but wearing that hat, I turned heads on the street, something of a feat for a woman in her 40s. Several times strangers came up to me while I was out walking and declared, “I love your hat!” One determined woman wanted to know where I’d got it and unfortunately I couldn’t tell her much–there wasn’t even a label inside. Sadly, I think I accidentally returned my hat to the thrift store with my last donation because when I went to find it, it was missing. I’m hoping it works the same magic on whoever bought it, making her feel as beautiful as I did my for many years.

Thank you for sharing your hat story. I too have lost a favorite hat so I know how you feel. Hats do have “magic” associated with them, and I always look forward to the next purchase and discover the magic that one will bring.
